1978-80, Surgical Residency in Thoracic Surgery at the Pontifical University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

1981-89, Chief of the Surgical Division of Hospital Conceicao in Porto Alegre, Brazil

1990-99, Head of the Thoracic Surgery Unit at the Lady Davis Carmel Hospital , Haifa, Israel

2000 – Today, Head of the Lung Surgery Department of the Beilinson Hospital – Rabin Medical Center, Petah Tikva, Israel.

Dr. Saute was the first secretary of the Israeli Society of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery and past-president (2008-2011) of the Israeli Society of General Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Saute is member of several international societies and reviews of several international journals in the field of thoracic surgery. He published more than 70 peer reviews articles and is an invited lecturer all around the world. He performed more than 700 lung transplants in the last 18 years. Among his main medical interests are lung cancer, lung transplantation and congenital lung malformations.
